Respiratory Illnesses & Diseases
In addition to lung cancer, heart disease and stroke, second-hand smoke exposure is a cause of various respiratory diseases and illnesses in adults. Commonly cited symptoms of exposure to passive smoke in public places, especially workplaces, are asthma, eye and nasal irritation and respiratory tract infections. Below are some selected scientific studies which demonstrate the link between involuntary exposure and respiratory illnesses in adults.
